#GIVING TUESDAY follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday and encourages charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world to come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. This  pop and hip hop driven cardio dance class includes brain tumor/cancer education, raffle prizes and more. As a kick off to our scholarship period, we encourage you to give your time, service or donations to a charity in the spirit of this day.  We will be hosting our Health & Fitness Event in partnership with a local health organization. This health event will feature an exercise class, brain tumor/cancer education, raffles and more. We will have vendors on hand to share pertinent health information and their current initiatives. We hope that your business will participate as one of our local business vendors. The event is FREE for both participants and health vendors. We also welcome any in-kind sponsorship or donation for the event as they support our 2017-2018 scholarship and grant programs. Tentative Agenda: November 28, 2017 @ 6-8pm

Dear Friend of the Mary E. Smith Foundation, Inc., Last year it was estimated that 69,720 people would receive a primary brain tumor diagnosis. Brain tumors are now the leading cause of cancer death in children less than age 20. They are also the second leading cause of cancer death in females under 20 and male adults up to age 39. Today there are 688,096 Americans living with a primary brain tumor. Despite new legislation and major breakthroughs in treatment options, there is still more work to be done. The Mary E. Smith (M.O.M) Foundation, Inc./Memories of Mary is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to the memory of Mary Elizabeth Smith. Since our incorporation in 2008, the organization has been committed to winning the fight against brain tumors. Silver Level ($500+)---PREVENTION MATTERS Contribute to our special brain tumor screening award created to offset the cost of CT Scans & MRI’s used in the prevention & treatment of a brain tumor. Bronze Level ($200+)---TEAMS FOR A CURE Contribute to the communities’ efforts to raise money for scholarship & grant programs to support those entering the fields of Neurology & Oncology. Over $50K has gone towards the support of educating our future leaders in medicine.
