Our WHY Story

Mary Elizabeth Smith was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor on September 10, 2003 and 4 days later she made her transition. Her untimely death had a devastating affect on our entire family. We learned some valuable lessons along the way and began to truly understand what it means to appreciate the gift of life. Through this appreciation grew a desire to help others facing similar challenges associated with losing a loved one. As a result, we decided to commit ourselves to philanthropic activities that would help decrease the incidence of brain tumors and eventually safeguard families from the pain associated with losing a loved one to this unpleasant medical condition.
